(podobny sound: international havester, Arbete & Fritid, Paerson sound....)

vynikajuci psych trip. Swedish LP on the legendary prog label Silence. This record is oftencalled the best swedish acid-folk album ever. The music is a perfectmix between acid-folk, protest songs and psychedelic trips in the samevein as TRAD, GRAS OCH STENAR. The album includes all the best parts ofacid-folk and psych as a long meditative track, but also funky trackswith tablas, violin, percussion, flute and sitar. HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDPIECE OF ACID-FOLK/PSYCH!

temne industrialne disko v podani burning star core a hototogisu vhodne pre fanusikov drone dark industrial ambient sound. velmi zaujmavy pocin a novy vietor do plachiet

Hototogisu & Burning Star Core — I (2006, DroneDisco CD, U.K./U.S.A.)

Thisis a pure celestial psychedelic meltdown, but really, did you expectanything else from this cabal of key sound artists? Hototogisu consistsof the extraordinary & prolific Matthew Bower (a personal hero ofmine) of Skullflower, Sunroof!, Total fame & the equallyastonishing Marcia Bassett from the unstoppable Double Leopards.Burning Star Core this time around consists of C. Spencer Yeh, RobertBeatty, & Trevor Tremaine, the latter two hail from Hair Police,Wolf Eyes, etc… “I” is a devastating document captured live inLexington, KY at the Horrible Room, on November 11, 2005. Each playerseems in tune w/ everyone in the room as these sounds seem to bounce& shuffle between the lot of them. This is an immensely wonderfulrecording filled with lush passages of ecstatic freak-out grandeur& tonal clouds of bliss.

 druha cast

Hototogisu & Burning Star Core — II (2006, Heavy Blossom CD-R, U.K./U.S.A.)

Companionalbum culled from the same live session as “I.” “II” finds the crew inwooly form. This sequel if you will is basically two half-hour slabs ofdense sound blocks, which shift & rotate as one great mass. On “II”things seems less decipherable, for instance Trevor Tremaine’s drummingis less noticeable, it’s there, but it’s not as forward as on “I.” Thisis what makes “II” just as interesting yet different than “I.” All fivemembers are faceless, are gargantuan shadows that float in & out ofeach other. Simply blistering & divine.

Burning Star Core & Lambsbread — Live in St. Louis (2006, Maim & Disfigure CDR, U.S.A.)

SinceJuly ’07 has officially become the month of Burning Star Core here atEat My Art Out, I felt it best to stay afloat w/ a few more C. SpencerYeh gems.

Special thanks to Dave Archer for this wonderfullive document between Burning Star Core & Lambsbread. “Live in St.Louis” climbs a mountain of psychedelia where the higher you go, theair thins w/ rapid suffocating cymbal action, though the spirits ofYeh’s violining grows more powerful through drone & thunderousscraping. This live release is an awesome transcendental experience. The difference between this & say Yeh’s collaborations w/Hototogisu is that “Live in St. Louis” has more in common w/ Cale eraVelvet Underground than Tony Conrad. The addition of the freeformfloating guitar lines adds a nice linear haze that is quite wistfuluntil sudden riffs charge periodically jarring the atmosphere. Amazing!

Marchetti + Voice Crack + Noetinger - Double Wash (@256)

Inthe last few years, the Swiss duo Andi Guhl and Norbert Möslang, a.k.a.Voice Crack, have searched out cooperation with other artists: therehave been recordings with Günter Müller, Jim O'Rourke, Eric M and OtomoYoshihide. The cooperation with Lionel Marchetti and Jérome Noetingeris doubly different on Double_Wash.

Turntablesas sound sources (abstract rather than recognisable) with a lot ofeffect processing. Interesting for it's techniques and it's distancefrom all other 'turntable' musics.

OMOIDE HATOBA-DAIONGAKU, CD, 1989, JAPAN

Followingmy posts of several other titles by this beserk Boredoms offshoot, here's their long unavailable debut missive. Interestingly, thispresages some of the more constructivist developments that Yamamotowould later apply as The Boredoms constrained the dementia into moredigestible packets starting with Pop Tatari. This is not to suggestthat there's any shortage of synapse frazzling spazz attacks at hand.Far from it. But in typical Omoide Hatoba fashion, the post punkshitfits are playing footsie with the psychedelically sprawling in waysthat stymie pigeonholing as much as they do rational thought when init's destabilizing presence

C.C.C.C.-Cosmic Coincidence Control Center,CD,1992,Japan

C.C.C.C. is a noise band from Japan, alongside such bands as Merzbow and Incapacitants.

The core line up of this band consisted of Hiroshi Hasegawa (also ofthe bands Astro & Mortal Vision) and former bondage-porn starMayuko Hino. Hino would occasionally during live shows reprise thiselement of her past into her performances by engaging in such acts asonstage stripteases. Other members were occasionally and variablybrought in for work on singular albums, but had no permanent membershipin the band.
Aesthetically, the band, and Mayuko Hino in particular, advocated a very emotive and cathartic approach to noise music asopposed the conceptual and intellectual approaches advocated by manyEuropean noise musicians, most notably within the "power electronics"subgenre. Mayuko Hino believes that Noise, when done emotionally ratherthan intellectually, not only creates more interesting sounds, butreveals much about the personality of the noisemaker. Sonically,C.C.C.C.'s first release, "Cosmic Coincidence Control Center" was muchquieter and much less distorted than most "Japanese noise" releases, bordering on being experimental ambient. Later releases, such as"Rocket Shrine" and "Love and Noise", however, took the psychedelicambiance and oddball sounds of early C.C.C.C., but amplified the volumeand distortion levels to easily be as loud, and harsh as other Japanesenoise bands, if not more so. The band's later releases rank among themore sonically diverse of noise albums, exploring an incredible varietyof sonic dissonances, while still maintaining a consistentlyear-splitting loudness.
The band eventually broke up. HiroshiHasegawa has returned, by all appearances, to doing experimentalambiance, this time under the name Astro. In 1995, Mayuko Hino releasedan album called "Chaos of the Night", which also starred Monte Cazazzaof "Industrial Records" fame.
As of early 2007, C.C.C.C. haveannounced a new CD release entitled "Chaos Is The Cosmos" which isforthcoming on Cold Spring Records.

Capricorni Pneumatici-st,tape,1987,Italy

Italianduo active from 1987 to 1991. Ambient, ritual and concrete music. Theirname comes from Aleister Crowley's book "Liber A'ASH vel CapricorniPneumatici SUB FIGURA CCCLXX". The two persons involved in the projectwere only known under the pseudonyms of Pazuzu and Soda Caustica.

"...Your music is very good, truthfully, I like it better than any that has been sent me by various groups.
Both tapes are excellent."

C. Spencer Yeh — Solo Violin 1-10 (2007, Tone Filth LP, U.S.A.)

Yetanother perfect album from the man behind Burning Star Core. “SoloViolin 1-10” displays a more taught, stripped compositional style thanSpencer’s usual psych bliss mega jams in Burning Star Core. For thesepieces, C. Spencer Yeh is equipped w/ simply his violin & variousobjects, recorded directly to tape & later edited down. In 2006,Yeh gave us a glimpse of the solo violin series w/ ‘ Solo Violin 11 ,’from the Students of Decay label’s killer compilation “Molten Strings,Train Wrecks, & Birdsong.” If you heard said piece then you knowwhat you’re getting into. Polly Bradfield’s 1979 masterpiece “SoloViolin Improvisations” immediately springs to mind whilst listening to“Solo Violin 1-10.” Both artists approach the violin in unique wayssuch as scraping the strings or knocking the body. You will hear thesounds of a bottle vibrating against the strings, erratic plucks, dualbowing, etc… This limited to 400 copies LP is as essential as anyBurning Star Core release. “Solo Violin 1-10” is an uncompromisingmasterpiece from one of contemporary sound arts true genius’.

popstar of noise...co dodat, loops, drone, noise, japan

Merzbow - Ecobondage (@256) "Ecobondage" CD Released by Distemper (USA) 1994 "Christianity havegreat bondage art form past before. I think Christ is king ofmasochist. So, European bondage tendency is Female domination. Butalmost woman dominant is bad bondage skill. Few exception is JohnWillie. He is good bondage artist." Interview with Dixon Christie. Morereissues of early Merzbow material, this time a 1987 album not toodissimilar to the Extreme 2CD release, though perhaps a bit less harshand more "pensive" in that some portions of these track slowly drift byin waves of echo, as opposed to the usual breakneck speed of Masami'sediting method. The pieces also seem more carefully assembled than on"Age of 369", more recognizably improvised than the automatistrandomness on that earlier release. Very live sounding collage ofsubtly banged trash percussion clanging chains and distant voices and(muffled ) tape squiggles, all with attention to the recording meter-meaning that the sound never goes "in the red" as the usual Masami CD'salways eventually do. Somewhat reminiscent of Faust's collagedmaterial, the floating sections of Guru Guru's masterful "Spaceship"(on the Hinten LP) or some of the Fred Frith/Chris Cutler (or any otherfree improvisers using electronics) live sessions I've heard but muchmore clinical and sinister than that might imply. This is Merzbow afterall, and the 30 minute title track conjures up any sort of depravedactivities your mind can visualize to attach to these chain scrapes, moans and weird rustling sounds. Track 2, the astounding "Ha Ha HoBari" picks up the volume slightly, and approaches distortion onoccasion, but in general retains a less harsh muted appeal that reliesheavily on deep bass rumblings of electronic static and microphone hum. After about 13 minutes you get some loud blasts of (tibetan-like)horns, and some rituallistic sounding echoed metals, all sorrounded bywhirring tape effects that sound like a swarm of insects hoveringnearby. Yes it's that good, and it dissolves into a muffled "ambient"section very much like the first "Music For Bondage Performance". Atthe 20th minute, a constant mechanical beat appears- and it sounds likeAutechre for about 20 seconds before the scraped percussion turns freeform and spastic. Truly one of Masami's greatest tracks. The last trackis a pretty fine thing- very subtle and percussive with a sort oforiental techno (?) feel, like an acoustic YMO jamming in a buddhisttemple. Booklet folds out into a stunning and startling full colorphoto collage of a shiny and pink naked Japanese woman (or is it amannequin?) tied up in a pose reminiscent of a christian martyr, surrounded by fragmented industrial images. The printing on this isvery well done, with the colors coming out very deep and rich. One ofthe best looking (American) CD's I've seen recently- even the printingon the disc itself is outstanding.
